I had noticed on previous runs, that I was guessing correctly the gender of the persons about to overtake me.
Today, I heard somebody approaching from behind, I guessed again correctly. I wander if there is something different about the breathing of a female? Or perhaps it is something else that is giving the clues, the running style (crunch of the feed on the running surface)
She eventually receded back.

Sunday Long Run
I had a choice of two road races today, South West of Lyon or Beaujolais (QuinciƩ). Both undulating, good for some training for the X.
Anyway, chose the Beaujolais course (17km).
When I arrived all my electronics where shot. No music (Battery) and no watch (dead)
I didn't even know the time while on the course. That was funny. They had written the KM's on the floor though, very useful. Running without any electronics is something I have not done for many moons. Usually the trusty 405 gives me a tonne of interesting (but clearly not useful) information.
Don't know what happened maybe the women where not well represented, I came in 2 minutes before the first woman. So now I need to benchmark against something else. Came in 19th V1 .... Not very interesting. Came in 31st. The winner took 1 hour... That is 17kmh !!! I took 1:17 (what is that 25% slower)

Windy.... amazing how that changes things. Took a bit of effort to step out the door but managed it by reminding myself that the Mont Blanc Cross is but a couple of months away. It is going to hurt ever so much doing that thing.
K, my virtual training partner is also going to take part in the the Cross also, that gives a motivational boost.
Speaking of motivation, the wife got on the cycle trainer again today. That is two days running. Must be spring.

Blue Peter
Now would I like to be a Blue Peter presenter kayaking down the Amazon? - Yep. But it does look tough.
Today was a rest day. Wednesday. Mostly because the kids are home, the wife is at home and there is other stuff to do. So took O out and bought some new running shoes. Will give them shot tomorrow.
My left Achilles was whinging this morning after yesterdays 10k (Which was a bit steep) So I'm not too bothered about not running today anyway.
Just thinking about joining the "Dardilly Urban Trail" with the "Lower Dardilly Urban trail" I could start joining it tomorrow. There is a considerable increase in difficulty, but it will be a nice route. And as a bonus, there are endless loops I can add to it.
Ah well, will look into it in the morrow - See how I am feeling and what the weather is doing

Dead as a Doo Doo
Start slow, so that is what I am also doing with this post.
During the 10K run today, I had thought about a tonne of things to write. About the huge bird of prey that swept the top of me, maybe a thought about joining two of my favorite trails to make a 15-18K trail. But in the end, work and J's DooDoo killed my enthusiasm to write.
