I have perfected a 7km loop here on the front side of Mt July. As I was descending I was thinking how fun it was coming down, but how hard too. Looking at the graph you can see that coming down the mountain was taking me longer than going up.

I was comparing this run to some kayaking rivers. It seemed that there where times that you could relax and let the footing just happen, and then others when you needed to look and concentrate where the feet where falling. And let the feet slip when they needed to. Just like on a hard river where you can rest in the eddies.
